Les Golden Eagles sont nés de la volonté de Mr M’Boua Stéphane, qui après plusieurs années en occident, décide, une fois rentré en Côte d’Ivoire en 1995, de créer une équipe de football américain dans son quartier de la Riviera Golf. Il faudra cependant 20 ans pour, qu’après différentes tentatives (notamment les Riviera Golf Tomahawks en 1995), le projet prenne véritablement forme avec l’aide de Mr Freddy Yovo, Mr Tiéba Traoré, Mr Ibrahim Diop et que naissent les Riviera Golf Golden Eagles. Ces quatre membres fondateurs du club sont tous des anciens joueurs, ayant pratiqués ce sport en France, au Canada et aux Etats unis, qui ont décidé de mettre leur expérience et énergie ensemble pour aider la jeunesse par ce projet.
Les Riviera Golf Golden Eagles voient le jour au début du mois de Février 2015 à Abidjan dans le quartier de la Riviera Golf .

Les entraînements et l’accompagnement des jeunes au quotidien sont assurés par :
Mr Stéphane M’Boua “Coach Stéphane” président du club et entraîneur en chef. Il est ancien joueur, a pratiqué le football américain notamment en France dans les années 90 lorsqu’il y faisait des études de Droit  à l’université de Paris 8 . Il a eu pour Coach, Laurent Plegelatte, l’importateur du Football Américain en France dans les Années 80 et créateur du Premier Club de Football Américain Français (Le Spartacus de Paris).
Mr Donald Nadjé, alias “Capi”, secrétaire général du club est un ancien joueur de rugby de Côte d’Ivoire et de soccer. Il est l’entraîneur en second, spécialiste en préparation physique.

Les autres membres que sont Tieba Traoré, Ibrahim Diop (alias Brahma), Eric M’Boua sont eux aussi d’anciens joueurs de Football Américain ; Mr Tieba a joué plusieurs saisons au Canada (notamment aux Bulldogs des Deux Montagnes et Cerberes de Montréal Est), Mr Diop est ancien Joueur des White Sharks de Nanterre et des Météores en France. Mr Eric M’Boua, vice président du club, est un Ancien joueur des Ours de Toulouse (en France) avant d’aller au Canada; quant à Mr Freddy Yovo, Membre Fondateur du club, il est lui ancien Joueur des Flash de la Courneuve en France, équipe 11 fois championne de France Elite de Football Américain.

THE FOUNDING MEMBERS OF THE GOLDEN EAGLES

The Riviera Golf Golden Eagles are an initiative of Mr Stéphane (pronounced Stefan) M’Boua who when he came back to Ivory Coast in 1995 after several years in western countries decided to create a Football team in Riviera Golf, his neighborhood. It was only 20 years later that the project really came to life with the help of Mr Freddy Yovo, Mr Tieba Traoré and Mr Ibrahim Diop who are all Former Football Players and who just like Mr M’Boua played the sport in different places like France, Canada and the United States. They decided to put their experiences and energy together and in the Beginning of 2015, The Riviera Golf Golden Eagles were born. The team is located in the neighborhood of Riviera Golf , North side of Abidjan, in Ivory Coast.

Mr Stéphane M’Boua alias “Coach Stéphane”, President of the association and Head Coach of the Golden Eagles is a former Football Player who played in France during the 1990’s when he was a Law College student at Paris 8 University . He was Coached by Laurent Plegelatte, the man who introduced American Football to France in the early 80’s and created France First Football Team , The Paris Spartacus.

Mr Donald Nadje alias “Capi” , The Club Secretary General is a former Rugby and Soccer player. He is the Golden Eagles Assistant Coach and is specialized in the physical preparation of the Golden Eagles players.

The other members involved in the coaching staff are Mr Tieba Traoré, Mr M’Boua Eric and Mr Ibrahim Diop. They too, are former football players : Mr Traoré played several years in Canada ( Deux Montagnes Bulldogs & East Montreal Cerberes), Mr Eric M’Boua , Vice President of the Golden Eagles is a former Football Player who played Quarterback for the Toulouse Bears (Les Ours de Toulouse) before moving to Canada. Mr Ibrahim Diop alias “Brahma” is a former Defensive end who played in France for the Nanterres White Sharks & the Fontenay sous Bois Meteores. Last but not Least , Mr Freddy Yovo, Founding member of the Golden Eagles also played in France and is a former player, Linebacker of the Flash of Courneuve, Team that won 11 Championships in France’s Elite Division.
